Daydreams of Travel

One of my passions is traveling. I haven’t really had the opportunity to explore too very much, but I’m working on it. I’ve been through most states and a couple of countries in the Caribbean. Not surprisingly, I love the ocean. My two favorite places to be (so far) are on one of my motorcycles or near the water.

I worked as a travel agent for a few years, which is by far one of my favorite jobs I’ve had. I got to dream and research and plan travel – the only downfall was that I wasn’t the one packing my bags to actually go explore.

I specialized in cruises during most of those years, though I didn’t get to go on my first cruise until the end of my time as a travel agent. I found that cruising is quite appealing to me. I look at it like the sample platter of travel. 

I get to explore a few different places in about a week or so without having to pack or unpack with each new destination. If I find that I absolutely love a certain location, I can go back and spend more time there. If I’m not crazy about it, I won’t return. 

So far, I haven’t found a place that I didn’t like, but that’s besides the point.

I have been to a few different cities in Mexico, Jamaica (my dream destination since I was a young child), Haiti, Belize, and Honduras. Every beautiful place I visit just makes me want to visit more.

I’m looking forward to obtaining my certification to go scuba diving so I can discover the beauty beneath the water as well (and swim with the sharks)!

Besides exploring all of the Caribbean, I’d love to visit Japan during the Sakura Matsuri festival (cherry blossoms). I want to go to Europe and see castles and visit the countries my ancestors came from. I would like to go to Australia and dive the Great Barrier Reef. Of course seeing the Northern Lights in person is on the list. I could go on, but I’d still probably miss some things.

Where’s your favorite place you’ve been? Where is your dream vacation? What do you like to do on vacation? Do you like cruising, backpacking, resort life, or some other way of travel?

I’m always looking for new places to add to my list. One of the best ways I’ve found so far is by networking with others who also share the passion of travel so we can exchange ideas, stories, experiences, and plans.
