I have enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. I have written mysteries, thrillers, detective fiction, poetry, short stories, technical guides, how to’s, self-help, parenting, design, online articles, ghost writing, and more. My passion has always been mysteries and thrillers in the fiction genre and encouraging messages for the non-fiction category. I have also worked as an editor and contributor to several online sources.
I have studied psychology, criminology, and philosophy, using the knowledge I gained to contribute to the characters I create. Each of my characters has a little part of me in them, but they have their own personalities. I don’t always love what my characters do and say, but they are true to themselves.
I grew up in southern California and migrated to Las Vegas, Nevada as a young adult, leaving the City of Angels for Sin City. My two children, now adults, were raised in Vegas.
Here are some Fun Facts about me:
- I am an adrenaline junkie. I have thoroughly enjoyed zip lining in Haiti, swimming with sharks in Jamaica, skydiving in Las Vegas, riding quads, other ATVs, and fast motorcycles. I plan to jump off of a building for my next birthday and would love to scuba dive with wild sharks someday!
- My favorite authors are James Patterson and Dean Koontz. Both author’s works have been with me since high school. One of my ultimate dreams is to co-author with James Patterson. (Feel free to point him in my direction!)
- I am passionate about traveling. There is nowhere I’m aware of that I wouldn’t travel to. I believe there is a lot to be learned and so much to appreciate about immersing oneself in other cultures, not just visiting a new place.
- Growing up, I wanted to be a homicide detective, a psychologist, or an author. I’m working to combine the three the best I can through my books to achieve all of my dream jobs. I did have one other dream career. I wanted to be the first female Los Angeles Dodger. Eddie Murray was my hero. (My mother told me I could do it if I really wanted to, though I’d have to work really, really hard.)
- Despite my ineptness at dancing, singing, music, and painting, I’m passionate about enjoying these activities. I do my best not to embarrass those around me with my lack of talent in said activities, but nothing dampens my enjoyment of these arts.
